Saleyards Project – November 2025

The Yea Saleyards Program took place on a welcomed rainy day, bringing much-needed relief and optimism to the local farming community. The rain not only eased ongoing seasonal pressures but also lifted spirits across the district. This month marked Angelique’s first time at the Yea Saleyards in her role as YDMH Social Worker, offering vital support to farmers and their families.

Angelique’s focus was on helping the local community navigate the complex health and social service systems, including access to disability and ageing services, family and carer support, counselling, and drug and alcohol programs. She was happy to chat to several farmers about how to find social support information and discuss personal and family wellbeing concerns.

The November Yea Saleyards Program strengthened community awareness of the services available through YDMH and highlighted the importance of ongoing support for rural people who often face isolation and stress.
