The YDMH Saleyards Program welcomed another successful community health day with its “Give Flu the Boot” campaign, offering free influenza vaccinations to local farmers, workers, and community members. Despite a cold start to the morning, the atmosphere was warm and inviting as Sue and Lihini were on the ground greeting visitors and providing flu vaccinations to help protect the community during the winter season.
A special thank you goes to Maddy, Michael, and Andrew, who helped create a welcoming environment by lighting the fire pit early in the day. The crackling fire quickly became a gathering point, bringing people together for warm drinks, friendly conversation, and valuable health discussions.
The fire pit provided more than just warmth—it created an opportunity for social connection, community engagement, and informal conversations about health and wellbeing. The event highlighted the importance of accessible rural healthcare and the strong community spirit that continues to make the YDMH Saleyards Program a success.
