A ‘thank you’ can be said in so many different ways…
Yea & District Memorial Hospital staff are regularly at the bedside of those in their final days and weeks of life. Care provided during these difficult times needs to be compassionate and provide comfort for the patient as well as their family and friends.
Leonard Orth’s care at the hospital was quoted as being “really great”, according to his dear friend, Stewart Cornwall. Stewart went on to say that he was never asked to leave Len’s bedside despite often being there past visiting hours. Stewart also added that he “really liked how all the staff treated Len” during his hospitalisation and final days.
In a generous display of appreciation and in memory of Leonard Orth, Stewart has kindly donated to Yea & District Memorial Hospital a new wheelchair that can transport patients and residents in and around the hospital and the medical centre.
Our fantastic team of staff across the organisation are congratulated for their excellent care of our community members and their families during times of need.
