International Women’s Day, March 8th, was celebrated at Yea & District Memorial Hospital with a morning tea for the community & staff. The theme for 2023 was ‘embrace equity ‘.
The day was first celebrated in 1911 and remains an important moment for working together to advance equality for women in all its forms “it’s a day for everyone” states Louise Sharkey Executive Director Clinical Services.
“Today we have celebrated equity and equality for all women and those who identify as women – by challenging stereotypes and seeking inclusion”
The event was organised by YDMH staff member Hailey Docking Integrated Health Promotion Coordinator.
